Dr. David Williams to Head LMU's MBA Program

Harrogate, Tennessee, August 15, 2016—Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) School of Business Dean James Hurley has appointed Dr. David Williams to direct the Master of Business Administration program.


Williams joins the LMU School of Business faculty as an associate professor after serving in faculty and administrative positions at the University of The Cumberlands (UC) in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, Kentucky. During his tenure at UC, he developed executive programs, targeting international and domestic graduate students, including an executive MBA, master of science in management and a master of science in information systems. He also served as associate dean of online learning and a professor of management. As the associate vice president of academic affairs at Mid-Continent, from 2010-2014, Williams was responsible for program assessment across academic departments.


Williams entered academia following two decades of service in hospitality management, working for industry leaders including Viejas Casino, Caesars Entertainment, Siena Hotel and Harrah’s Entertainment. Williams began his career as a marketing analyst and rose to executive level positions. He worked domestically and internationally, from Phoenix, to San Diego, to Lake Tahoe, to Auckland, New Zealand.

Williams’ publishing credits includes books, textbook chapters, peer-reviewed journals as well as industry journals. He is the author of two books – Your Career and the 7 Deadly Sins (Career and Faith Publishing) and Casino Gaming Methods: Games, Probabilities and Controls (Prentice Hall).


Williams earned an undergraduate degree from Emory & Henry College, an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a doctorate of business administration from University of Phoenix. He also holds a post baccalaureate certificate in forensic accounting from Davenport University.
